Volleyball Recap: Howell Takes a Loss

Howell was the 2-0 winner over Oakville when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Jocie Nepute paced Howell's offense, picking up 13 kills. Nepute got some help from Grace Thompson and her 14 assists. Thompson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Howell has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16-2 record this season. As for Oakville, their win bumped their record up to 10-11-1.

Looking ahead, Howell will head out to square off against Fort Zumwalt West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oakville, they will face off against Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
