On Wednesday Gavin McClafferty struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The performance marked the most strikeouts McClafferty has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with more than six strikeouts. For the year, he has an ERA of 1.52 over 23 innings pitched.
