Poth is a perfect 9-0 against Nixon-Smiley since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Poth will take on Nixon-Smiley at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Reese Urbanczyk made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Urbanczyk was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Kroll, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paige Gilden, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Poth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley hadn't done well against Karnes City recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Nixon-Smiley put the hurt on Karnes City with a sharp 19-5 victory. That looming 19-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Poth's record now sits at 9-6. As for Nixon-Smiley, their record now sits at 4-9.

Everything went Poth's way against Nixon-Smiley when the teams last played on March 11th, as Poth made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poth since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
