Baseball Game Preview: Plainview Hornets vs. Evans Eagles

Plainview is 2-7 against Evans since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hornets will challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Plainview took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Florien, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Blackcats 8-6. While the Hornets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evans). They never let Northwood get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Evans now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Plainview, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Plainview got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Evans by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
