Basketball Recap: Clay County Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Clay County Panthers came up short against the Man Hillbillies and fell 65-52. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hillbillies 21-8 in the first quarter.

Moses Hicks was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 boards for Man. Hicks' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Ward, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Clay County's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Man, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Clay County will face off against Man at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Man, they will take on Richwood at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Man is facing Richwood at the right time seeing as Richwood is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
