Football Recap: Mountain Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mountain Ridge had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it seven. They were outmatched by the Boulder Creek Jaguars and fell 55-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mountain Lions of the 63-22 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Ridge lost, don't look at Easton McClanahan. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and two TDs. McClanahan showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards.

As for Boulder Creek, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Everett Stano was his usual excellent self, throwing for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Joey Longo was Stano's top target, picking up 92 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mountain Ridge will head out to face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boulder Creek, they will venture away from home to square off against O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
