Softball Recap: Castilleja Comes Up Short

Castilleja lost against Mercy back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gators came up short against the Bears, falling 19-5. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Castilleja saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raina Kapadia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Kapadia launched this season.

Castilleja's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mercy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Castilleja will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Mercy, they will be playing at home against Terra Nova at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
