Preview: Northumberland Indians vs. Westmoreland Eagles

The Northumberland Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Westmoreland Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Northumberland pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Essex on the road by a decisive 54-35 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tyreek Lundy, who threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Milton Laws was in the mix too, providing Northumberland with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Westmoreland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Lancaster by a score of 14-12. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, Westmoreland couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. Westmoreland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Northumberland didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Westmoreland in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northumberland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
