Basketball Recap: Springfield Renaissance Picks Up 18th Consecutive Victory

Springfield Renaissance had won 17 straight games and Zi'Yan Wallace did her part to make it 18 on Monday. Springfield Renaissance came out on top against the Southwick Regional Rams by a score of 53-45 thanks in part to Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was her tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Sy'Nye Baker was another key player, putting up 17 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Springfield Renaissance's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for Southwick Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield Renaissance will take on McCann Tech at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. As for Southwick Regional, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Franklin County Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
