Football Game Preview: Piper vs. Paola

Piper will challenge Paola on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Piper now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.

Piper came into their this week averaging 39 points per game, but Piper fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They took a 7-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tonganoxie. Piper got a solid performance out of senior Dalton White, who rushed for 111 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. White has been a consistent playmaker for Piper as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, Paola put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Baldwin as the team secured a 42-0 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Paola's victory lifted them to 5-0 while Piper's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. We'll find out if Paola can add another positive mark to their record or if Piper can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Paola's step.
