It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Texas had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Abernathy Antelopes 43-14. The Comanches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 29 points or more this season.
Cayde Winters went supernova, rushing for 224 yards and four scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Kelby Sherwood, who rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Texas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abernathy only rushed for 142.
When it comes to explaining why Abernathy lost, don't look at Malachi Walters. Despite the final result, he rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.
