Softball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bombers vs. Wayne Eagles

For the second straight game, Bloomfield will face off against Wayne. The Bombers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Bloomfield's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Wayne has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Wayne's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Bloomfield hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Bombers never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Fans of the Bombers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Ashlyn Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Bloomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
