Baseball Recap: Syracuse Comes Up Short

Syracuse extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-13 in the process. They lost 12-5 to the Fremont Silverwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Bronx Manning made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

On Fremont's side, Chase Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Simkins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Adam Mikesell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

While Syracuse had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
