Softball Recap: Bishop Gorman Gets the Win

The matchup between Bishop Gorman and Sierra Vista on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Bishop Gorman Gaels never let the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gaels needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

MAKAMAE EUGENIO looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).

At the plate, CHARLIE SIMI was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of BROOKLYN HICKS, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Bishop Gorman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The win got Bishop Gorman back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Bishop Gorman will welcome Basic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sierra Vista, they will head out to challenge Bishop Gorman at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
