Softball Recap: Moline Comes Up Short

After flying high against Normal West on Friday, Moline came back down to earth. The Maroons fell just short of the Sterling Golden Warriors by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Golden Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Emersyn Rasso made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nicole Carman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Moline's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Sterling, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Moline will square off against rival Rock Island at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sterling is set to challenge their familiar foe Quincy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
