Basketball Recap: Oxford Takes a Loss

Oxford lost against West Bloomfield back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oxford Wildcats lost to the West Bloomfield Lakers at home by a 41-22 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Lakers are ranked 63rd).

Oxford has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for West Bloomfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Oxford will face off against Lapeer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Bloomfield, they will take on Edison Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully West Bloomfield likes a good challenge.
