Volleyball Recap: Central East Takes a Loss

Central East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sunnyside Wildcats. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Central East actually scored more points across those five sets (111-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25, 20-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Central East's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central East will welcome Madera at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunnyside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
