Recap: Freeman Scotties vs. Montesano Bulldogs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Freeman Scotties walked away with it. They came out on top against Montesano by a score of 28-21 on Friday. Freeman pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Montesano cut but never quite recovered from.
Luke Whitaker was his usual excellent self, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Freeman also got a significant boost from Kanoa Rogan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
The win was the third in a row for Freeman, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points per game. As for Montesano, their loss ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-1.
Freeman will face off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Montesano does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
