Volleyball Preview: Normangee Panthers vs. Lovelady Lions
Normangee is 6-1 against Lovelady since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having struggled with three losses in a row, Normangee finally turned things around against Centerville on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 3-2.
Normangee wouldn't go down easily and took Centerville into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13.
Nolan Harris had a dynamite game for Normangee, getting 32 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brackyn Frederick, who had 24 digs.
Meanwhile, Lovelady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Iola, falling 3-0.
Lovelady was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring zero points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.
Normangee's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-20. As for Lovelady, their loss dropped their record down to 1-22.
