Basketball Recap: Friendship Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Thurgood Marshall Academy on Wednesday, Friendship Collegiate Academy came back down to earth. The Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkside Eagles. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Colby Murphy, who posted 25 points for Parkside. Another player making a difference was Jerron Joseph, who scored 14 points.

Friendship Collegiate Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Parkside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Friendship Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-31 loss against Southern Maryland Christian Academy on the 17th. Parkside has also already played their next game, a 60-56 victory against St. Anselm's Abbey on the 18th.
