Baseball Game Preview: Owensboro Red Devils vs. Hancock County Hornets

The Owensboro Red Devils will face off against the Hancock County Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owensboro's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Hancock County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Owensboro is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Breckinridge County on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Tigers. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Ohio County.

Porter Hay made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Lane Dixon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Owensboro's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Hancock County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
