Basketball Recap: Northwest Wins Going Away Against Boone Central

Northwest lost to Boone Central back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Northwest Vikings enjoyed a cozy 40-26 win over the Boone Central Cardinals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Boone Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addy Hedlund, who posted 13 points and five steals. That was a full 50% of Boone Central's points, marking the fifth time in a row Hedlund has earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Braylee Young, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Boone Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Northwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-34 defeat against Beatrice on the 14th. As for Boone Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-33 win against Madison on the 17th.
