Basketball Game Preview: Martinsville Bluestreaks vs. Dieterich Movin Maroons

The Martinsville Bluestreaks will face off against the Dieterich Movin Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Martinsville is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Brownstown on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Martinsville was dealt a 56-25 defeat at the hands of Brownstown. The game marked the Bluestreaks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Dieterich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of North Clay/Clay City by a score of 41-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Movin Maroons have suffered against North Clay/Clay City since December 3, 2018.

Dieterich's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Martinsville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4.

Martinsville was taken down by Dieterich 44-16 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Martinsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
