Russell and Fleming County are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Red Devils will challenge the Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Russell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Fleming County likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Russell beat Raceland 57-45. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Russell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaiden Benge out in front who shot 63% from the field on his way to 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Burgess, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fleming County didn't have quite enough to beat Rowan County on Friday and fell 70-67. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Fleming County's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Russell, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Russell came out on top in a nail-biter against Fleming County when the teams last played back in January of 2025, sneaking past 66-64. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
