Fort Wayne Snider hasn't had much luck against Bellmont recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. Fort Wayne Snider will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Fort Wayne Snider had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Fort Wayne South Side on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Archers. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Archers: they've now won eight in a row.
Madelyn Taylor and Makayla Stone made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Taylor tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Stone struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, Taylor posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Taylor got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Stone went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Gabrielle O'Neill and Iiley Griggs did most of the damage at the plate: O'Neill went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Griggs got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Griggs a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Ella Houser, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.
Fort Wayne Snider was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bellmont had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Braves have posted since April 23rd.
Bella Ashley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bellmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finnley Godsey, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI. Emily Bleke was another, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Fort Wayne Snider's record is now 9-12. As for Bellmont, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Fort Wayne Snider might still be hurting after the 20-8 defeat they got from Bellmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
