Carlinville extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Litchfield Purple Panthers. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Cavaliers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Noah Convery was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Michael Kaganich also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

As for Litchfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.
