Football Game Preview: Watertown Purple Tigers vs. Liberty Creek Wolves + How To Watch

The Watertown Purple Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Liberty Creek Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Creek took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Watertown, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Watertown didn't have too much trouble with Cascade as they won 27-9.

Garrett Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 141 yards and one TD. Those 188 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Watertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Watertown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jesse Bratcher.

Meanwhile, Liberty Creek played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against White House, falling 35-14. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Watertown will have to keep a close watch on Grayson Christian and Jackson Collier, a pair of players who had a big impact on Liberty Creek's prior game. Christian rushed for 101 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while Collier rushed for 72 yards and one TD.

Watertown has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.7 points over those games. As for Liberty Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
