Softball Recap: Whiteland Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

After only two runs in their last contest, Whiteland made sure to put some runs up on the board against Brownstown Central on Saturday. The Warriors came out on top against the Braves by a score of 10-7. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kiley Sullivan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Annie Harmon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Putnam, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Whiteland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brownstown Central struck out seven times.

Whiteland pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Brownstown Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Whiteland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against Hamilton Southeastern on the 26th. As for Brownstown Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against Seymour on the 26th.
