Volleyball Recap: Berean Christian Eagles vs. Pittsburg Pirates

After flying high against Miramonte last Thursday, Berean Christian came back down to earth. Berean Christian came up short against the Pittsburg Pirates on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-20, 26-24.

Pittsburg found their leader in sophomore Jessiah Ozuna, who had 16 digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Lozano De La Cruz, who had 21 assists and eight digs.

Berean Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pittsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season.

Berean Christian will take on Concord at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pittsburg, they will challenge El Cerrito at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
