Softball Recap: Pulaski Gets the Win

Pulaski took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Tully, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Black Knights on Friday, sneaking past 6-4.

Danicka Gilbert made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hayden Reynolds was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily McLaughlin, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pulaski kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Pulaski's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Tully, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Pulaski has already played their next game, a 14-0 victory against Hannibal on the 18th. Tully has also already played their next matchup (against Onondaga), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
