Soccer Recap: Rowland Gets the Win

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Rowland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Wilson Wildcats. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Rowland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5-1. As for Wilson, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rowland will square off against Northview at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rowland's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Wilson, they will face off against Covina at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covina will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Wilson surely won't give up without a fight.
