Baseball Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Coronado Cougars

For the second straight game, Arbor View will face off against Coronado. The Aggies will square off against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Coronado, who was ranked 24th at the time (Arbor View was ranked ninth). The Aggies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Cougars on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Aggies have posted since March 21st.

For Coronado's part, they got a good showing from Hudson Inouye, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Inouye hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Coronado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Chai, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Matthew Moreno Jackson was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Arbor View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Coronado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.
