Preview: Appling Christian Academy Eagles vs. Byne Christian Saints
Appling Christian Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Byne Christian Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Appling Christian Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-26 loss to Peoples Baptist Academy.
Appling Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bella Gray, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, and Annaleigh Carter who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Gray hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games.
Meanwhile, Byne Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 52-45 to Peoples Baptist Academy.
Appling Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Byne Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.
Appling Christian Academy suffered a grim 57-33 defeat to Byne Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Appling Christian Academy was down 39-10.
