Soccer Game Preview: Arete Prep vs. Veritas Prep

Arete Prep is 0-3 against Veritas Prep since January of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Arete Prep CHARGERS will take on the Veritas Prep Falcons at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Arete Prep's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on North Phoenix Preparatory Academy with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the CHARGERS.

They hit North Phoenix Preparatory Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Annalise Rossing (2), Isabella Restivo (2), Alexis Nason, and Sarah Morawa.

Meanwhile, Veritas Prep came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Matador. Give the Falcons' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Veritas Prep pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Arete Prep, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Arete Prep suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Veritas Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Arete Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
