Football Game Preview: Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] Cougars vs. Christ School Greenies

The Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Christ School Greenies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars were dealt a 56-21 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

Meanwhile, Christ School was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, the Greenies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 137th in North Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 32nd in Georgia).

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Christ School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] couldn't quite get it done against Christ School in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 as they fell 34-21. Thankfully for the Cougars, Kaden Brown (who rushed for 228 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
