Recap: Castlewood Blue Devils vs. Tri-Cities Christian Eagles
After a string of four wins, the Castlewood Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to Tri-Cities Christian on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin. Castlewood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tri-Cities Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Tri-Cities Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Faith Greene led the charge by scoring 28 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The matchup was Greene's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Michaela Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Castlewood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Tri-Cities Christian, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castlewood will be home for the holidays to greet Hurley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hurley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Castlewood is ranked 164th). Tri-Cities Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Northwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
