Recap: West Carteret Patriots vs. Kinston Vikings
The West Carteret Patriots were the 42-40 winner over the Kinston Vikings when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. West Carteret fell 52-41 to Kinston on Tuesday. West Carteret's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
West Carteret lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ella Holmes, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Skyler Setzer, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
West Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Kinston, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Havelock the next time they take the court. West Carteret will head out to face Havelock at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Kinston will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
