Basketball Game Preview: Moreau Catholic Mariners vs. Madison Warhawks

The Moreau Catholic Mariners and the Madison Warhawks will round out the year against one another at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Moreau Catholic comes in on six and Madison on ten.

Moreau Catholic is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since March 1st on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Alameda 66-64. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mariners' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Hornets are ranked 436th).

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Madison in a 68-51 victory over San Diego on Thursday.

Madison's win came from a few key players Moreau Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Gleason, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Runnar(rj) Miller, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points and six boards.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Moreau Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
