Makray Goad posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against George Wythe back in April, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Grayson County is 8-1 when Goad allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

Coming up, Goad and Grayson County will square off against Carroll County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 160 places lower in Virginia), but they're not letting that get them down.
