The power rankings have experienced a modest tune-up after last week's playoff battles. The action included a dizzyingly high 107-point combined score from Eastlake and Gonzaga Prep.

Steilacoom managed to bank 341 more yards than its opponent Sequim last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Everything went Steilacoom's way against Sequim as it secured a 49 - 12 win. Senior JJ Lemming deserves a lot of the credit as he threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns. Thanks to its success, Steilacoom cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
Can't Touch This
Lake Stevens got a 56 - 42 win over Curtis last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Tre' Long. Long tossed the ball for 355 yards and three TDs. That performance made Long one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Eastlake (20th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Gonzaga Prep (11th). Victory was within reach, but Eastlake ultimately lost 56 - 51 to Gonzaga Prep. Eastlake fell despite improving upon an already solid 25-point performance the game before.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Mount Si (4th in the power rankings) and Puyallup (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
