Softball Recap: UMS-Wright Prep Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

UMS-Wright Prep waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the LeFlore Rattlers a 21-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Parker Abston was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Emma Trawick was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Blaylock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

UMS-Wright Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

UMS-Wright Prep's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for LeFlore, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

UMS-Wright Prep has already played their next game, a 13-2 loss against Elberta on the 29th. LeFlore has also already played their next matchup (against Murphy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
