Softball Recap: Childress Takes a Loss

Childress lost against River Road back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Childress fell 5-2 to River Road. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ansley Parr was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double.

Childress' loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for River Road, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Childress is set to face off against their familiar foe Tulia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, River Road will square off against rival Canadian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
