Softball Recap: Taft Eagles vs. Lane Tech Champions
Taft made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lane Tech, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Champions by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Champions since June 1, 2022.
Jiselle Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Gabriela Gonzalez was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Taft has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Lane Tech, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-10.
