Volleyball Recap: Greenville Homeschool Athletics' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Greenville HomeSchool Athletics waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Miller Grove Hornets as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Greenville HomeSchool Athletics took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenville HomeSchool Athletics to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mary Carter, who had eight digs and four aces. Carter has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie McGraw, who had 11 assists and seven digs.

They weren't the only good server: Greenville HomeSchool Athletics was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive games.

Greenville HomeSchool Athletics' win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Miller Grove, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville HomeSchool Athletics will take on Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miller Grove, they will square off against Como-Pickton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
