Clarkston came out on top against East Valley on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Bantams skirted past the Knights 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Bantams: when they faced off against the Knights back in March, they had to take a 8-5 defeat.
Olivia Tannahill tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Izzy Shlegle was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Blaydes, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Clarkston now has a winning record of 6-5. As for East Valley, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-6.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Clarkston by a score of 15-5 later that day.
