Softball Recap: Lake Wales Takes a Loss

Lake Wales lost against Lake Region back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lake Wales Highlanders fell just short of the Lake Region Thunder by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Anna Conroy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Lake Wales and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Lake Region, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Wales will face off against Sebring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Region, they will challenge Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
