League recap: Loss drops Warner Robins out of state Top 25

AAAAA Region 2 recap Sept. 26, 2012

Warner Robins suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 52-14 loss to Warner Robins. The Demons had been ranked 22nd, but fell to 30 following the defeat.

Evans moved up to 180 from 263 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 2. A 24-20 win over Jefferson County helped the Knights improve their standing.

Jarius Hill made the biggest impact on defense this week as Evans topped the Warriors. The senior pulled down one interception and recorded two fumbles.

Greenbrier's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolfpack feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Adam Sasser has thrown for 109 yards and one touchdown this season, while Charlie Stakely has two catches for 35 yards. Jeremy Harden leads the league in rushing with 355 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Warner Robins takes on Marty Jackson's team. As it stands, the Demons are in second, while the Knights are in fifth.

Evans and Jefferson County played the most hotly contested game in AAAAA Region 2 this week, with Evans eventually emerging with a 24-20 victory. Jonquell Jones in the win.
