Football Recap: Holliday's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Holliday extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They strolled past the Benbrook Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 51-33. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Bobcats are ranked 534th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Holliday's defensive line and their six sacks. Benbrook's QB won't forget Hudson Dray anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Having lost for the first time this season, Benbrook fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Benbrook lost, don't look at Brennan Barton. Despite the final result, he threw for 406 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of TDs. A healthy portion of Barton's aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Dorien Johnson.

Holliday didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 64-41 victory against Burkburnett on the 19th. As for Benbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 34-28 defeat against Eastern Hills on the 20th.
