Basketball Recap: Sublette Takes a Loss

Sublette lost to Stanton County last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Larks had to suffer through a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Trojans.

Cara Leonard was Sublette's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Ataly Puentes held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stanton County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kynzi Fehringer, who posted 15 points and six steals. Fehringer has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three steals, but 1-4 otherwise. Avery Scott was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Sublette has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Stanton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Sublette has already played their next matchup, a 67-27 loss against Wichita County on the 27th. As for Stanton County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-27 victory against Wiley on the 29th.
