Baseball Recap: Granite City Comes Up Short

Granite City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 9-5 to the Alton Redbirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 back in March.

Keithan Noel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Tm Bradley, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Alton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Granite City will head out to face off against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaminade at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
